A new season has arrived, which means it’s time for another QC Event School Contest!
Autumn is one of the most beautiful seasons for entertaining. The deep, rich colors combined with the cozy atmosphere (not to mention the comfort food!) make for a wonderful opportunity to create unforgettable gatherings.
For this contest, we are celebrating one particularly exciting aspect of Autumn: Halloween!
Hurry, contest entries close on October 23rd!
How It Works
For this contest, we’ll ask you to use Polyvore to create an inspiration board for an Autumn-themed event. If you’ve never used it before, don’t fret — it’s fast and easy! Scroll down for a quick tutorial on how to use it.
To take part in this contest for your chance to win a fabulous prize, simply create an inspiration board using the red, yellow and orange color palette below, and focusing on autumnal elements! Think pumpkins, leaves, and rich colors! You can create any event you like (a wedding, party, etc.), as long as you use the color palette indicated, and focus on a Fall or Halloween-themed event.
Once complete, you can easily submit your entry by uploading a link to your Polyvore board using the form at the bottom of this page. Be sure to submit by October 23rd, 2016!
On October 24th, we’ll post the semi-finalists on QC Event School’s Facebook Page where you’ll vote for your favorites by liking the best boards. The five inspiration boards with the most “likes” by October 28th will be our finalists! The finalists will be sent to the judge who will choose a winner by Halloween, Monday, October 31st!
We’re so excited to have QC Event School tutor, Candice Coppola, critique and score our five amazing finalists. Candice will use her personalized scorecard to help her pick the winner of the grand prize!
Here’s Candice’s scorecard to see exactly what she’ll be looking for in each finalist’s inspiration board:
- Color Scheme: Do the colors work together seamlessly with one another? Does the color scheme match/work with the selected theme?
- Originality: Is the inspiration a composition of new and original ideas? Does it take the theme and do something different and unexpected with it?
- Design Board Layout: Is the board constructed with a clear and concise message as to how the items relate to the theme? Can all items be seen free of too much overlapping?
- Mixed Media: Does the vision board consist of items that create texture, dimension, and depth to further carry out the selected theme? Or are all the items of one medium?
- Practicality: Could this inspiration board be used to design a real wedding or event? Is this inspiration board suitable and polished enough to send to a client?
The winner of our Fall Into Autumn Event Contest will be able to add to their collection of treasures with a $100.00 Etsy gift card, as well as a one-on-one consultation with QC Event School tutor, business owner, and judge of this competition, Candice Coppola!
