I&#8217;m no stranger to a lazy day on the couch with Netflix (although admittedly, a lot less these days). I enjoy baking &#8211; especially my mother&#8217;s banana bread!<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Why_did_you_decide_to_become_an_event_and_wedding_planner\"><\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">Why did you decide to become an event and wedding planner? <\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Like many before me, I started by going through the process for my own special day. I found everything to be pretty easy, and extremely enjoyable. Although, it also helped that my husband actually made decisions and didn\u2019t just take a back seat!<\/p>\n<p>I was sad when it was all over. I really enjoyed researching who and what was available in the area. I hated that I couldn\u2019t book <em>everyone<\/em>. I pondered on it for a while, before finally taking the leap to start my study. I researched schools for weeks! When I found <a href=\"\/about-qc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">QC Event School<\/a>, I excitedly decided to enroll with them.<\/p>\n<p>I got started reading that same day! I didn\u2019t even wait for my books to arrive. I worked full-time but would still be up all night, reading my <a href=\"\/online-event-courses\/event-and-wedding-planning\/unit-a-course-outline\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">course materials<\/a> from my laptop and writing down notes. I even remember studying and doing assignments on the tail-end of my honeymoon with my husband. I just couldn\u2019t resist!<\/p>\n<p>Eventually, I ended up leaving my job for health-related reasons, as I was going to have a baby. White is most associated with weddings. But also, for me, it symbolizes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Affection<\/li>\n<li>New beginnings<\/li>\n<li>A clean slate<\/li>\n<li>A fresh, blank canvas for creativity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I also love foxes. They\u2019re super adorable! The choice to make it one word (and two x\u2019s) was purely to be different and a little bit edgy.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Having_graduated_from_QCs_Event_and_Wedding_Planning_Course_as_well_as_our_Event_Decor_course_would_you_say_you_have_caught_the_attention_of_more_clients_because_of_your_additional_training\"><\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">Having graduated from QC\u2019s Event and Wedding Planning Course, as well as our Event D\u00e9cor course, would you say you have caught the attention of more clients because of your additional training?<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Most definitely! The statement that these credentials <a href=\"\/blog\/2018\/05\/boost-your-resume-with-event-planner-certification-programs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">add to my resume<\/a> is invaluable. It gives clients reassurance that they&#8217;re in capable hands. They know they&#8217;re working with someone who not only takes their big day seriously, but has a pure passion for this industry.<\/p>\n<p>I have always been someone who likes to study and have knowledge behind me. This training gives me so much confidence when meeting with people, whether they\u2019re potential clients, fellow <a href=\"\/blog\/2018\/12\/how-to-find-the-perfect-vendors-for-your-event-career-in-event-planning\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">vendors<\/a>, or I\u2019m just <a href=\"\/blog\/2016\/09\/4-best-networking-tips-planners\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">networking<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This training has also helped me know my worth. I&#8217;ve seriously enjoyed doing everything I\u2019ve done so far! I\u2019m really looking forward to what I\u2019ve got planned in 2020. Working with more than just one venue allows me to be a bit more creative for my clients. I always get to do new things.<\/p>\n<p>I work extremely closely with a particular <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solutionplanthire.com.au\/blog\/what-is-dry-hire\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">dry hire company<\/a> in my area, and they&#8217;re always open to my ideas. I find my region to be a little behind the times, so it\u2019s nice to think that I\u2019m having an impact on bringing it forward. I want to keep bringing those big city looks here, and keep the weddings and events in our area.<\/p>\n<p>We have <em>such<\/em> gorgeous landscapes in our very own backyard. In your eyes, what\u2019s the biggest pro and the biggest con to being a wedding planner? <\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>I love weddings the most because the event decor can be <a href=\"\/blog\/2018\/08\/why-event-customization-is-key-in-party-planning-courses\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">personalized<\/a> in so much detail! Couples want to incorporate themselves into the styling of their big day with their favorite flowers, their favorite food\/drinks, etc. You can making personalized stationary, rather than just the stock standard. The options are limitless!<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes, clients sacrifice what <em>they\u00a0<\/em>want in order to make their friends and family happy. Yes, while pleasing the guests can be important to couples, I hate to see them forget about themselves in the process! This is why I find customization so special and important.<\/p>\n<p>For myself, the biggest pro is knowing how much I&#8217;m <a href=\"\/blog\/2017\/09\/clients-hire-wedding-planner-part-1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">helping my clients<\/a>. I get to take their stress away, give them a new perspective, bring them new ideas, and help them find common ground. I&#8217;m very lucky to be blessed with a rainbow baby. He was born on his dads\u2019 favorite day: Star Wars Day! He is growing to be such a sweet little dude &#8211; and he knows it!<\/p>\n<p>With regards to my website, I am truly so proud of the result. I&#8217;ve been working around the clock with one of my closest friends, who works at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/brandlucidity\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Brand Lucidity<\/a>. She&#8217;s the most epic graphic designer I have EVER come across. She did a total re-brand for me! It&#8217;s been a long few months, and a\u00a0<em>lot<\/em> of coffee, to get everything the way we wanted it. But we made it!<\/p>\n<p>At present, <em>WhiteFoxx<\/em> offers event and wedding planning, styling, and <a href=\"\/blog\/2018\/03\/guide-event-decor-rent\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">event decor<\/a>. We also offer on-the-day management in <a href=\"\/blog\/2019\/07\/career-in-wedding-planning-package-services-make-more-money\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u00e0 la carte style<\/a>, to suit individual needs and budgets. In the beginning, I doubted my knowledge and experience.<\/p>\n<p>Getting <a href=\"\/blog\/2019\/10\/why-you-cant-get-your-wedding-planning-business-off-the-ground\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">exposure<\/a> is another thing. My region is <a href=\"\/blog\/2019\/03\/how-to-become-a-wedding-planner-in-a-small-town\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">not in dire need<\/a> of wedding planners. Most couples feel they can do it all themselves, possibly to save money. Working full-time in retail didn\u2019t leave much time to be sitting in a class. All I had were nights, and every second weekend.<\/p>\n<p>The second factor was <a href=\"\/why-choose-qc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">location<\/a>. I wanted to be able to study on my lunch break, on the couch, at my parents\u2019 house when I visit them, etc. I wanted access to a mentor when I needed it, at my own convenience &#8211; and that\u2019s what I got!<\/p>\n<p>I got real feedback, just like I would in an in-person classroom. I also needed the flexible payments that I worked into my budget. Not to mention, I loved the <a href=\"\/about-qc\/qc-affiliate-program\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">associations partnered with QC<\/a>. As an event and wedding planner, you&#8217;re absolutely going to benefit from that!<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_was_your_proudest_moment_as_a_certified_event_and_wedding_planner\"><\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">What was your proudest moment as a certified event and wedding planner?<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>I probably have two&#8230;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>My first moment would be when I received my certificates in the mail. It may not be the biggest thing for most people, but this was the first time I actually finished a study. I did my two certificates while working full-time, during my pregnancy, and then whilst having a newborn. I completed both of my courses by the time my son was about two months old!<\/li>\n<li>The second is something that occurred more recent. During my first wedding expo day, I was featured on the local news! I got to tell everyone what I do, and what I love about my job. I love to expand my knowledge and learn new skills, so I can bring something different my repertoire. I would also love to book in some travel, whether it&#8217;s professional or private. I&#8217;ve been working on wax sealing for a while, too.
