Regardless of how stunning the final celebration may be, if a couple feels as though <a href=\"\/blog\/2017\/01\/wow-event-planning-clients-customer-service\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">your customer service<\/a> fell flat along the way, then you\u2019re doing something wrong.<\/p>\n<p>Remember: <em>you<\/em> are your brand! It all comes back to you. Particularly:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The way you communicate<\/li>\n<li>How accessible you are<\/li>\n<li>How honed your process is<\/li>\n<li>How seamless and enjoyable you make planning feel for your couples<\/li>\n<li>How high-touch your service is, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Clear and prompt communication, top-notch organization, and listening thoughtfully to your client&#8217;s desires &#8211; while simultaneously serving up ideas that elevate their vision &#8211; will serve you well. Plus, it can earn you some envy-worthy reviews when all is said and done!<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"2_Manage_client_expectations\"><\/span><strong>2. Manage client expectations.<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Remember that incredible service I just talked about? That <em>doesn\u2019t<\/em> mean you have to agree to ideas you know won\u2019t work. You&#8217;re also not expected to completely abandon your own process, or <a href=\"\/blog\/2020\/07\/3-more-clients-you-should-blacklist-from-your-event-wedding-planning-business\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">let go of boundaries<\/a> you\u2019ve worked hard to build over the years.<\/p>\n<p><em>You<\/em> are the expert! Guide your client through the process and the decisions that will best serve their vision. Our taste is informed by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Our memories<\/li>\n<li>Our hobbies<\/li>\n<li>Our moods<\/li>\n<li>Places we\u2019ve traveled<\/li>\n<li>Important moments in our lives and in our love story<\/li>\n<li>And so much more!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When you\u2019re planning a luxury wedding, it\u2019s important you respect your clients\u2019 desires, even if they\u2019re not in line with your own. If you feel like they have their heart set on something that doesn\u2019t quite align with the overall event aesthetic, ask thoughtful questions to understand the \u201cwhy\u201d behind the vision. Then you can think outside of the box in order to offer up alternatives that still achieve the same goal, but in a way that works to elevate the overall event.<\/p>\n<p>Your goal isn&#8217;t to produce an event that simply makes your portfolio look good. Your goal is to <a href=\"\/blog\/2018\/06\/learn-the-true-meaning-of-luxury-with-event-planning-courses\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">produce\u00a0an experience<\/a> that speaks to your <em>clients\u2019<\/em> love story and distinct desires.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"4_Be_transparent_about_your_fees_and_their_budget_items\"><\/span><strong>4. Be transparent about your fees and their budget items.<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Regardless of how massive a client\u2019s overall budget may be for their luxury wedding, that doesn\u2019t necessarily mean they don\u2019t care about line-items or how much things cost. If you\u2019re suggesting an upgrade that comes with a significant price increase, let them know that <em>before <\/em>they fall in love with the idea. My advice is to treat every client the same when it comes to numbers &#8211; <a href=\"\/blog\/2018\/01\/luxury-wedding-planning-tricks-on-a-small-budget\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">regardless of their budget<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Never assume a large budget means that someone doesn\u2019t have regard for what things cost!<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"5_Choose_the_right_venue\"><\/span><strong>5. Choose the right venue.<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>In QC\u2019s <a href=\"\/online-event-courses\/luxury-wedding-and-event-planning-specialization\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Luxury Wedding Planning Course<\/a>, you\u2019ll learn about the importance of selecting the right setting. If your client has a lofty vision for their day, you want to ensure the venue can accommodate that. The <a href=\"\/blog\/2016\/05\/things-every-venue-wishes-new-event-planners\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">venues you recommend<\/a> should check three main boxes:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>They should be able to accommodate the most important parts of your clients\u2019 vision<\/strong>.\n<ul>\n<li>For example, can they host that big brass band your client wants to book? Are there nice restrooms on site? Will they allow for hundreds of candles? Is there somewhere fit to showcase that dreamy floral chandelier your client has her heart set on?
