Perhaps learning a complimentary art or trade will be helpful?<\/p>\n<p>Clients might be excited to learn that you can plan their engagement party and then plan their large destination wedding too!<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"2_Practice_and_learn\"><\/span>2. Practice and learn<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>You already know that the best event and wedding professionals are always learning. There are, however, other ways to learn outside of completing additional training.<\/p>\n<p>Keep up with the latest trends by following blogs, vlogs, and other industry-related publications. Consider finding a mentor in the community who can challenge your skills and help you learn new ones. Mastering trends keeps your skills and services in fashion and makes sure you\u2019re always evolving.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"3_Network_on_and_offline\"><\/span>3. Network on and offline<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>In the planning industry, one of the best ways to get new clients is by referral. Establish a solid brand<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Many event planners work professionally, but they don\u2019t necessarily build an actual brand. Whether you\u2019re working with a planning company or concentrating on freelance contracts, establishing your own recognizable brand complete with a name and logo can be to your benefit. You\u2019ll appear organized, professional, and legitimate compared to other professionals who haven\u2019t built a marketable image yet.<\/p>\n<div style=\"overflow: auto;\">\n<div class=\"half-1\">\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"5_Be_proactive_about_opportunities\"><\/span>5. Anyone looking for that service will come to you.<\/p>\n<p>But having a specialization doesn\u2019t mean that\u2019s the only kind of service you should offer. Build a positive reputation<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Even something as simple as your attitude toward clients can help to set you apart from the crowd.<\/p>\n<p>Being professional is important, but if you\u2019re friendly, approachable, and fun to work with, you\u2019ll build a reputation for giving clients positive experiences. Clients who enjoyed your company AND your skills will refer you to their friends and write more positive reviews about your services, which means more clients for you!<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"8_Be_innovative\"><\/span>8. Be innovative<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Remember that most of your clients probably aren\u2019t professional event planners. Even those who want simple events with classic style will be drawn to you if you can show them a mix of what they\u2019re looking for and the truly creativity you\u2019re capable of. Displaying your most innovative or unique events alongside your fundamental skills shows clients that you\u2019re well rounded.
