{"id":8307,"date":"2016-02-08T07:00:03","date_gmt":"2016-02-08T12:00:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.qceventplanning.com\/?p=8307"},"modified":"2016-02-08T07:00:03","modified_gmt":"2016-02-08T12:00:03","slug":"getting-the-event-planning-clients-you-really-want","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.qceventplanning.com\/blog\/2016\/02\/getting-the-event-planning-clients-you-really-want","title":{"rendered":"Getting the Clients You <i>Really<\/i> Want"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><i> QC tutor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.qceventplanning.com\/tutors\/regina-osgood\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Regina Osgood<\/a> is the owner and creative director of <a href=\"http:\/\/meant2beevents.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Meant2Be<\/a> events, a top Arizona wedding planning firm that manages over 250 weddings a year.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>With a new year comes a chance to regroup, reprioritize, and even re-brand. I started knee-deep in 2016 with a re-launch of my business. It\u2019s our 10 year anniversary this year, so it was time for a facelift!<\/p>\n<p>Which then begs the question, how do we re-launch our business, maintain our success, and up our game? How do we still target our client demographic? I\u2019ve asked others who are seeking my advice or just starting up about their target client base, and too often the answer I get is incredibly vague: \u201c20-30, recently engaged.\u201d My response is to say sarcastically, \u201cSo basically everyone?\u201d<\/p>\n<div style=\"overflow: auto\">\n<div class=\"half-1\">\n<p>Well, we all know how the story goes: you cannot please everyone. Also, what exactly do you think makes you the best planner for everyone? Marketing for this purpose will make you the needle in the proverbial haystack!<\/p>\n<p>When our clients come to us there are two comments we get. We have spent years developing our target market, and because of that time and effort our demographic is laser-focused.<br \/>\nHere are some questions to ask yourself to get started on figuring out your target demographic:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Age?\n<li>Education?\n<li>Profession\/Income?\n<li>Associations?\n<li>Religion\/Culture?\n<li>Hobbies\/Interests?\n<li>Style?\n<li>Engagement\/Planning length?\n<li>Local\/Destination wedding?\n<\/ul>\n<p>Each of these questions can be answered in full paragraphs and developed in increasing detail. The more information you can include about your ideal client, the more likely you are to attract them.<\/p>\n<p>Why spend time doing this? Because your target audience will influence every business choice you make. Your ideal client is the foundation of your company. It will shape your company\u2019s image, the advertising choices you make, the associations you join, and the people you network with. The result: you\u2019ll end up with clients that will need little sales pitching, won\u2019t shop around, and will pay more for your assistance.<\/p>\n<p>For us, this has gone as far as a client changing her contracted date with her venue to a date when we were available to participate in her journey!
