Here you get an opportunity to better understand how each facility operates, ask questions, and compare which location would best fit your client\u2019s needs in the future.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t know what to ask?<\/p>\n<p>There is a fantastic questionnaire at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.herecomestheguide.com\/images\/main\/QALocations.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Here Comes the Guide<\/a> that helps cover all the bases.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Work_together_as_a_team\"><\/span>Work together as a team<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Sue wishes to see a more collaborative effort between the planner and venue.<\/p>\n<p>During a past meeting with a client and their event planner, she asked the client to provide their itinerary. The event planner quickly jumped in asking, \u201cWhy do you want to KNOW?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Well, the venue is the destination where everyone comes together\u2014the guests, caterers, entertainers, photographers, bartenders, decorators, etc. There are many moving parts that need to be carefully coordinated to ensure your client\u2019s event runs smoothly.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"672\" height=\"405\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9137\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.qceventplanning.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/event-planning-team.jpg\" alt=\"The best recipe for event planning success, according to Sue Habibi? Their unparalleled attention to detail is what makes them great at what they do!<\/p>\n<p>However, this same mentality of always making sure everything \u2018perfect\u2019 can hinder progress on a project. Venues will often accommodate a planner\u2019s requests as long as these adjustments are within reason and have minimal impact on deadlines.<\/p>\n<p>Focus on the big picture and don\u2019t sweat too much on the nitty gritty.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Venues_can_promote_YOU\"><\/span>Venues can promote YOU<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Venues are a fantastic source of referral business and act as a marketing arm for your business.<\/p>\n<div style=\"overflow: auto;\">\n<div class=\"half-1\">\n<p>Aside from working together on an event, there are ways to continually strengthen your relationship with them:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Offer to write guest posts and contribute to their website blog<\/li>\n<li>Volunteer at their open house\/food tasting\/community events<\/li>\n<li>Actively promote them on your own social media platforms<\/li>\n<li>Invite them to participate in industry related events<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Once you reach that solid relationship, ask to be included in their preferred vendor list.
