How It Works
For this contest, we’ll ask you to organize a real styled shoot that can be used in your event planning portfolio.
To take part in this contest for your chance to win a fabulous prize, develop a plan for your styled shoot by following the guidelines below! Once your plan is finalized, begin reaching out to local vendors to bring your vision to life.
Styled Shoot Criteria
- Entrants must create a styled shoot inspiration board (PDF or Pinterest board). To include a Pinterest board with your submission, please copy + paste the board’s URL into your submission email.
- Entrants must work with at least 1 professional vendor.
- Entrants must showcase a design for one table (whether it’s a banquet table, sweetheart table or 60″ round guest table).
- Entrants must list all participating vendors.
- Entrants must create a write-up describing their chosen theme, color scheme and their inspiration behind the styled shoot.
- BONUS points will be awarded if the entrant works with 5 or more professional vendors.
Using Athena’s criteria provided above, develop your own concept, theme, and color scheme for your styled shoot. When you have your vision finalized, you can research local vendors who may be interested in participating in a styled shoot. You must use a minimum of one vendor for this contest.
Once everything is planned, execute your styled shoot from beginning to end, taking photographs of each element you incorporated. Submit your photographs, a description of your shoot, and the names of your vendors. Entries will close on June 24th, 2019.
On June 27th, we’ll post the contest winner on QC Event School’s Facebook Page!
The winner of the Create Your Own Styled Shoot Contest will receive a free one hour “Ask Me Anything” session with Athena DeVonne, plus a copy of Athena’s book Planners Unplugged: Secrets of the World’s Greatest Event Planners. The winner will also be featured on QC Event School’s blog, Pointers for Planners!
The runner up will receive a 2019-2020 18-Month Planner by Gallery Leather, as well as a Russell + Hazel One Day at a Time Notepad.
We’re so excited to have QC Event School tutor, Athena DeVonne, critique and score your submissions. Athena will use her own scoring guidelines to help her pick the winner of the grand prize!
All entries should include an inspiration board (PDF or Pinterest board), a vendor list (with contact information), a write-up describing your design, and photos from the styled shoot.
