Spring Bridal Trends for Wedding Planners

QC tutor Regina Young is the owner and creative director of Meant2Be events, a top Arizona wedding planning firm that manages 30-40 weddings a year. In this post, Regina shares her thoughts on 2017’s spring bridal trends!

Winter is fading and the flowers are beginning to blossom, spring is here! So what’s blooming for 2017? Here are a few of my new favs filling up my timelines, rental orders & portfolios this year!

Green

Unique wedding venue ideas for your wedding planning business

Not like eco green, like bring-on-the-ferns green! With Pantone’s new color of the year being “greenery” we finally have a year that wedding trends are not going to be 2 years behind! While I am still seeing the embracement of ruby tones, this year & probably next will be all about leaves, garlands, wreaths & nature at its best.

More Glam, Less Formal

More and more we are seeing dresses with more bling, appliqués, beading and sparkly detail, but less in the form of a large ball gown. Think gold threading, silver beading, breezy silhouettes and sophisticated.

Away With Tradition

Unique wedding ideas for non-traditional couples

Friends as officiants, informal ceremonies with unusual readings & music, unique food offerings, personalized mixology & out-of-the-box entertainment. If it’s not unique to the couple, it’s not acceptable.

Gift Lounges

I had a killer welcome bag for my guests at my wedding, but I wish I had done this instead. Think Hollywood swag room, but at your wedding. This fun twist on the hotel welcome bag is ideal for destination weddings. Instead of stuffing and delivering them yourself, let your guests do the work. Set up a room full of swag like snacks, drinks and local sweet treats and let guests choose their favorite items. This also gives you the opportunity to meet and greet guests in person when they arrive.

Unique Venues

Planning a wedding in the woods for spring 2017

2017 will also be the year of unique venues. Historical mansions, public gardens, deep in the forest; if it seems gorgeous and unlikely, it’s happening this year. For a planner this means welcome to your logistical nightmare, but excitement for the amazing photos you will have after the big day!

My company has all of these trends all wrapped up into one beautiful wedding day coming up in May this year. Ceremony with a gorgeous couple in the Redwood forest of Carmel Valley California, dinner at long king’s tables overlooking the amazing view from a lawn of a 10 bedroom mansion. Our bags are packed & we are armed and ready for some amazing Instagram moments! I can’t wait to show you!
